45. Read 5 new books by black authors; one being a self help.
I would consider this to be my self help. Lord knows I need it! While on my business trip this weekend, I decided to take a break from the Guinness and carefully read Hill Harper's "The Conversation: How Black Men and Women Can Build Loving, Trusting Relationships" Shiiiiiit I really don't know if anyone can sometimes lol. This book can serve as a mirror. It allows you to take a good look at yourself and re-evaluate your past, current, and future relationships. We
DO NOT talk to each other. Instead we confuse each other, we hurt each other, we use sex as an aid, and more often than not, we are completely unaware and not even conscious of what it is we're doing.
Me personally, I think Black Women spend more time complaining to their girlfriends - because it is always great to have someone who will listen, instead of really communicating with their men. Black women are so afraid to let their guard down with their men, in fear of being hurt or looking weak. Women have been brain washed to believe that all men are bad, and their "mama" told them that they don't need to depend on a man for sh*t blah blah blah ...
BUT !!!!
What about the good men who are trying to be with these brain washed black women? What about the struggles that come along with dating a woman who comes into the relationship thinking “Don’t worry, girl, we all know n*ggas ain’t sh*t anyway . . .”? How are the good men expected to deal with such negative energy? After a while it gets old, and some men give up. Don't get me wrong, I do agree that the damage to the black relationship started with the "no good" black men. There are a lot of sorry men out there, some of which are even my friends. That doesn't make us all bad! Does it?
Do you think you are part of the problem or solution in your relationship?
Some times, It's not always the OTHER PERSON.
